Atelier Materi takes its name from the Breton word for matter - a tribute to founder Véronique Le Bihan's roots in Brittany, a region of powerful, mineral landscapes that shapes everything the house does. Raw material is not a starting point here so much as a philosophy: each fragrance is built around a single natural ingredient, placed at the centre of contrasting olfactory combinations and allowed to reveal itself fully - its nuances, its unexpected facets, its most honest expression.

The house works in close collaboration with artists and craftspeople, from the harvesting of materials to the creation of fragrances, flacons and boxes. It is their hands that give each object its soul. The result is a body of work that is minimalist and contemporary in aesthetic, but deeply rooted in place, craft and the conviction that the finest things are made slowly, with attention and from the finest materials.
