We - Alex & Kate (+ Patti the dog) - founded Stillroom Apothecaries in early 2026, opening in July 2026. Inspired by discoveries on our travels that had a sense of place and evoked memories, Stillroom was subsequently created to offer a space for everyone to feel comfortable trying out fragrances. Friendly, relaxing and peaceful - a place where you can try a scent on your skin, wander off and do the rest of your shopping, then come back later. No pretension nor aloofness - there is no right or wrong when it comes to fragrance. You like what you like.

Our carefully curated collection brings together exceptional perfume houses from around the world -  each chosen for their craftsmanship, creativity and dedication to quality. From contemporary artisans to heritage fragrance makers, every scent in our Stillroom has a story to tell.

That’s why we take time to understand each customer - your preferences, moods, memories and the emotions you want a scent to evoke. Or simply how you want to smell. Equally - if you simply want to browse quietly by yourself then that is encouraged just as much.
