Atelier Materi - Bois d'Ambrette

Bois d'Ambrette is built around one of perfumery's most quietly extraordinary raw materials - ambrette, a vegetal musk hand-harvested from small parcels of tropical dry forest in northern Peru. Sun-dried, sifted and aired, the seeds release something rare: floral and powdery accents threaded through with musk and amber, at once sensual and restrained. A falsely innocent skin scent.

It opens with a crisp, luminous burst of mandarin and ginger. At the heart, ambrette unfolds its rich, complex facets - slightly carnal, deeply skin-close - alongside angelica and amyris. The base settles with quiet elegance: sandalwood, muscs and ambroxan holding everything in place like a white shirt worn against warm skin.

In other words... The smell of clean skin with something underneath it. Soft, but not simple.
