Ortir Apothecari is an award-winning independent Welsh niche perfume house founded in May 2022 by artisan grower and perfumer Lisa Howarth. Its name comes from the Welsh o'r tir - "of the land" - and that is the whole proposition: classical fine fragrance technique built on raw botanicals grown and distilled on Howarth's own West Wales farm, including more than two acres of lavender and camphorous lavandin.

Howarth spent roughly a decade learning the local terrain through horticulture before turning to small-batch extraction and distillation, and she remains the nose and the hands behind every bottle - farming, distilling, blending and bottling herself. The result is what the house calls slow perfumery and purposeful luxury: place-led compositions that weave home-distilled rosemary, peppermint, rose and lemon geranium into the atmospheric realism of the Welsh countryside rather than reaching for globally sourced shortcuts.
